New school bus in Sikar - नवीन स्कूल बस

JBGVS is increasingly getting more and more active in Sikar district of Rajasthan. On 27th December a school bus was provided to Jamnalal Bajaj Higher Secondary School in the village Kashi ka Baas. This bus, funded by Bajaj CSR, was inaugurated at the hands of Mr Madhur Bajaj, Vice Chairman, Bajaj Auto & Trustee, JBGVS. Also present on the occasion was Mr C P Tripathi, Chairman, JBGVS. The event was covered in local newspapers.

Through its Samaj Seva Kendras (SSKs), JBGVS not only works for the underprivileged in urban areas, but also helps promote a bridge between urban and surrounding rural areas. SSK in Akurdi near Pune is also engaged in cultural activities that promote the latent skills and qualities of youngsters in various performing and fine art categories. The recent Tabla and Harmonium camp, in which learners from Akurdi and surrounding areas participated, is a case in point. This was the third time that such a camp was organized. New school building and media coverage: Wardha - वर्ध्यातील नवी शालेय इमारत व बातमी

Under its education program, JBGVS recently completed the construction of the new upper primary Jilha Parishad School in Takli (Chana) village in Wardha district of Maharashtra, in association with the local school management committee. The well-equipped building was inaugurated at the hands of Ms Naina Gunde, Chief Implementation Officer, Jilha Parishad and Mr Bharat Mahoday, Advisor to JBGVS (Wardha). The inauguration was done on the death anniversary of Sant Gadge Baba in remembrance of the great clean-up work undertaken by him. The event was covered in the Wardha edition of the newspaper Sakaal.

शिक्षण हा जेबीजीव्हीएसच्या पाच प्रमुख कार्यक्षेत्रांपैकी एक असून अलीकडेच संस्थे तर्फे वर्धा जिल्ह्याच्या टाकळी (चना) गावातील उच्च प्रार्थमिक जिल्हा परिषद शाळेच्या नव्या इमारतीचे बांधकाम पूर्ण करण्यात आले. स्थानिक शाळा व्यवस्थापन समितीच्या सहकार्याने हे काम पूर्णत्वास गेले. सुसज्ज अशा या शाळेचे उद्घाटन श्रीमती नैना गुंडे, मुख्य कार्यपालन अधिकारी, जिल्हा परिषद व श्री भरत महोदय, सल्लागार, जेबीजीव्हीएस (वर्धा) यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले. संत गाडगे बाबांच्या पुण्यतिथीला उद्घाटन करून त्यांच्या स्वच्छतेच्या महान कार्याला एक प्रकारे मानवंदना दिली गेली. या समारंभाची बातमी सकाळ (वर्धा आवृत्ती) मध्ये प्रकाशित झाली.

In the education field, JBGVS has been focusing on e-learning as one of its thrust areas. It has been distributing e-learning units, which cover the entire state board school curriculum, to underprivileged schools. This interesting way of learning has not only reduced the school drop-out rate in many cases, but also is in line with the Digital India initiative of the government. Recently, the e-learning initiative of JBGVS was covered in the newspaper Sakaal (Nagpur).

Aurangabad SSK anniversary celebrations - औरंगाबाद एसएसके वर्धापन दिन समारंभ

Samaj Seva Kendra (SSK) of JBGVS in Aurangabad completed three years of operation and recently celebrated its anniversary at the sprawling green campus of Bajajvihar in the Pandhurpur suburb near the city. JBGVS work in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra is progressing in leaps and bounds and spans diverse activities including deepening and widening of streams (nullahs) in line with the government's Jalyukt Shivar Yojana, school infrastructure, cow rearing and water purification plants. This is turning out as a blessing to the drought-prone district.

School infrastructure: Provision of lockers - लॉकरची सुविधा

Education is one of the five focus areas of JBGVS rural development mandate. Improving school infrastructure is an integral part of the education endeavour. Recently, in an effort to reduce the school bag burden of the students, JBGVS provided lockers for the Jilha Parishad Primary School in Adhalwadi (Ghotwadi), Khed taluka, Pune district.

शिक्षण हा जेबीजीव्हीएसने एकात्मिक ग्राम विकास कार्यात प्राधान्य दिलेल्या पाच मुद्द्यांपैकी एक आहे. यामध्ये शाळांतील पायाभूत सुविधा सुधारणे हा सुद्धा एक महत्वाचा भाग आहे. अलीकडेच संस्थे तर्फे विद्यार्थ्यांच्या पाठीवरचे दप्तराचे ओझे कमी करण्याच्या हेतूने आढळवाडी (घोटवाडी), तालुका खेड, जिल्हा पुणे, येथील जिल्हा परिषद प्रार्थमिक शाळेत लॉकर सुविधा उपलब्ध करण्यात आली.

जेबीजीव्हीएस कामधेनु गोपालन प्रकल्प पुणे जिल्ह्याच्या मावळ भागात सक्रीय असून देशी गायींच्या पालनालाही प्रोत्साहन दिले जाते. त्यासंबंधी एक लेख अलीकडेच सकाळ (मावळ पुरवणी) मध्ये प्रकाशित झाला.

Goat rearing, a success story - शेळी पालन, एक यशोगाथा

While improving the economic situation in rural areas, if the age old eco-friendly lifestyle prevailing there is retained, only then can it be called as sustainable development. If done properly under supervision, goat rearing can be beneficial at the household as well as the village level, which has been proved by Shri Lakshman Mormare of Mormarewadi in Nane Maval area (Maval taluka, Pune district).

In March 2014, JBGVS has provided him with one male goat and four female goats, together constituting one group. In the past two years, he took good care of the same. The result is that now he has seven male goats and 25 female goats. This tribal family, which earlier used to barely manage to earn Rs 25-30,000 per annum, now earns Rs 1,00,000. From this family of four, one person is now full time engaged in this occupation.

ग्रामीण भागातील अर्थव्यवस्था सुधारताना तेथील पूर्वापार चालत आलेली पर्यावरणस्नेही जीवनपद्धती शाबूत ठेवली तरच त्याला शाश्वत विकास म्हणता येईल. योग्य देखरेखीखाली शेळी पालन केले तर घर व गाव अशा दोन्ही पातळ्यांवर फायदा होतो हे नाणे मावळ (तालुका मावळ, जिल्हा पुणे) भागातील मोरमारेवाडीच्या श्री लक्ष्मण मोरमारे यांनी सिद्ध करून दाखवलाय.

जेबीजीव्हीएस तर्फे त्यांना मार्च २०१४ मध्ये एक बोकड व चार शेळ्या मिळून एक गट देण्यात आला होता. गेल्या दोन वर्षांत त्यांनी निट देखरेख करून या गटाचा सांभाळ केला. परिणाम असा झाला की आता त्यांच्याकडे सात बोकड व २५ शेळ्या आहेत. जे वनवासी कुटुंब पूर्वी हलाकीच्या परिस्थितीत मोलमजुरी करून जेमतेम रु २५-३०,००० वार्षिक उत्पन्न कमवत होते, तेच आता रु १,००,००० पर्यंत कमवत आहेत. कुटुंबातील चार सदस्यांपैकी एक जण आता हा व्यवसाय पूर्णवेळ करत आहे.

Adolescent girls' training in Nane Maval - किशोरी प्रशिक्षण

The various activities that are regularly organized by JBGVS under its Adolescent Girls Development Program contribute to the Government of India’s Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. A training program was recently conducted in the villages of Taje and Pimploli in Nane Maval area of Maval taluka, Pune district, for adolescent girls in the age group of 14 to 18 years. The objective of the training was to focus on the physical and mental transition that takes place in adolescent girls.

The training was conducted through interesting interactive mediums like games, stories, quizzes and plays, in which 45 girls participated. The organizers observed that although guidance is provided in schools, many girls who have questions in their mind are very hesitant to ask. It was also observed that the above mentioned interactive mediums are very effective in driving home the point.

जेबीजीव्हीएसच्या किशोरी विकास उपक्रमांतर्गत वेळोवेळी जे कार्यक्रम आयोजित केले जातात त्यातून भारत सरकारच्या बेटी बचाव-बेटी पढाव मोहिमेला निश्चित हातभार लागत असतो. अलीकडेच पुणे जिल्ह्यातील मावळ तालुक्यात नाणे मावळ भागात ताजे व पिंपळोली गावांत १४ ते १८ वयोगटातील किशोरींसाठी प्रशिक्षण आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. किशोरवयीन मुलींमध्ये होणारे शारीरिक व मानसिक बदल यांबद्दल माहिती देणे हा मुख्य हेतू होता.

या प्रशिक्षणात खेळ, गोष्टी, प्रश्नमंजुषा व नाट्य यांसारख्या आकर्षक माध्यमांचा उपयोग करण्यात आला ज्यामध्ये ४५ किशोरी सहभागी झाल्या होत्या. आयोजकांचे असे निरीक्षण आहे की अनेक शाळांतून मार्गदर्शन केले जाते पण किशोरी मनात असलेले प्रश्न विचारायला संकोच करतात, तसेच वरील नाविन्यपूर्ण पद्धतीने विषय समजावून सांगायला सोपे जाते.
